Deputy Minister Chami pays visit to TBS
The Deputy Minister for Industry,
Trade and Marketing Hon. Dr. Cyril Chami
(MP) has paid a familiarization visit to
the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS).

Dr. Chami visited TBS headquarters at
Ubungo, Dar es Salaam on Monday, March
3, 2008 and had an opportunity to become
accustomed to the different functions
performed by TBS and the activities
conducted in its seven laboratories.
In her welcome remarks, the Chairperson
of the TBS Executive Council Professor
Apollinaria Pereka congratulated the
Honorable Deputy Minister for his
appointment which she said was an
indication of the President’s confidence
in him.
She also commended him for taking a step
to pay a visit to TBS despite his
diverse ministerial responsibilities.
On his part, TBS Director Mr. Charles
Ekelege praised Hon. Dr. Chami for
making TBS his first priority. He also
congratulated him for his appointment as
Deputy Minister.
Mr. Ekelege went on giving the Deputy
Minister a brief overview of TBS
including its statutory functions,
mandate, mission and vision.
