SELECTION OF PILOT COMPANIES FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF
"ISO 22 000: 2005 FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS"

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) is implementing a Project on "Trade Capacity Building: Enhancing the capacities of the Tanzanian quality infrastructure and TBT/SPS compliance systems for trade". The objective of the Project is to improve the capacities of the Tanzanian quality infrastructure to meet domestic and export market demands on product quality and safety. The Project is funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Considering the need for offering safe food to consumers, this Project also intends to assist selected pilot companies to establish and implement food safety management systems according to ISO 22 000 standards.

By this advertisement, all companies interested to be included in the pilot group, are requested to submit their written applications to the undersigned not later than 30 April 2007.

The following criteria will be considered during the selection process:

a)  Companies with basic knowledge on ISO 22 000 standards.
b)  Companies in a process of establishing and or implementing an internal quality management
      system in line with ISO 9000 standards.
c)  Companies with a Quality Assurance Manager.
d)  Companies with willingness to analyze the possibility of implementing an environmental
      management system according to ISO 14 000 standards.
e)  Companies in export business
