TBS inspects 376 local
industries
Tanzania Bureau of
Standards (TBS) has visited 376 industries in 19
regions in Tanzania as part of its efforts to
ensure that all local production abides by
national standards.
This was revealed by TBS
Director, Mr. Charles Ekelege, during a function
to grant standards mark licences to manufacturers
whose products have recently been certified
against relevant Tanzania standards.
He said during the financial
year 2009/2010, TBS set an objective of visiting
industries in all regions of Mainland Tanzania and
that to date the Bureau has already visited 19
regions. He said only Mara and Mwanza regions are
yet to be visited but will be visited before the
end of the year 2009/2010.. |
